D|Fab’s goal is to fulfill its responsibility as a member of our community, supporting local and regional charitable and service organizations. We are passionate about our community and support local charities that make a difference where we live and work. Here are some of the charities we have supported through our “D|Fab Cares” program.
May 2022: Forgotten Harvest
Oak Park, MI
Forgotten Harvest delivers 144,000 pounds of surplus food per day to local charities five days a week, providing families in need with fresh and nutritious food free of charge. Michigan’s Oak Park non-profit branch distributes donated perishable food (that would otherwise be thrown away) to local Detroit area foodbanks on a daily basis, fighting both hunger and food waste.
April 2022: St. Jude Research Hospital
St Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or a family’s ability to pay.
March 2022: World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization devoted to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef José Andrés. Its method of operations is to be a first responder and then to collaborate and galvanize solutions with local chefs to solve the problem of hunger, immediately following a disaster. WCK has been serving meals to thousands of families escaping the violence in Ukraine and people still remaining in the country, each day.
February 2022: K9 Stray Rescue League
K-9 Stray Rescue League rescues hundreds of dogs every year from surrounding county shelters’ euthanasia lists and owner surrenders. K-9 Stray Rescue provides a humane environment for rescued dogs until permanent homes are found.
January 2022: Autism Alliance of Michigan
Autism Alliance of Michigan is an organization with the mission to lead efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan. They work toward a more accepting future for all people by cultivating a world rich in diverse abilities, talents, and ideas.
2021 November: Alzheimer's Association
Through their many initiatives and worldwide reach, the Alzheimer’s Association leads the charge in Alzheimer’s quality care, support, research, and advocacy. This organization focuses on ways to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia through research and early detection.
October 2021: Capuchin Soup Kitchen
The Capuchin Soup Kitchen has provided food and clothing to people in need, in Detroit, MI, Since 1929. It has a long history of helping the poor, serving up to 2,000 meals a day. While it was initially established as a soup kitchen, CSK now includes a food and clothing bank, a drug rehabilitation program, and an after school and summer youth program.
Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan
Gleaners provides a vital link between food sources and those most in need by providing food to 528 partner soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters throughout Southeastern Michigan.
HAVEN - Oakland County
HAVEN serves victims of domestic violence and sexual assault by providing shelter, counseling, advocacy and educational programming to nearly 30,000 people each year.
Oxford Community Memorial and Victims Fund
Due to recent events in Oxford, MI, our community mourns the loss of four Oxford High School students due to senseless violence. The “Oxford Community Memorial and Victims Fund” has been established to accept donations for the victims and their families.
